For more than a century, Underwriters Laboratories has served as an independent product safety certification organization that tests products and writes standards for safety. This effort promotes safety through the use of safety science and hazard-based safety engineering, and supports the production and use of products which are physically and environmentally safe.

Comprised of a variety of window and door manufacturers and related industry companies, the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) is recognized for the development of standards that provide independent, third-party validation of product performance and quality. This well-regarded industry organization has remained committed to developing the highest level of technical expertise, addressing industry concerns and supporting member companies since its inception in 1936.

The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) is a non-profit industry organization that is committed to providing accurate, fair and reliable testing data to help consumer, architects and builders compare the energy performance of window and door products.  This valuable industry resource also provides an accurate method of showing the energy benefits of new designs or technology.

Established in 1977, the Insulating Glass Certification Council (IGCC) sponsors and directs an independent, third-party certification program.  Periodic accelerated laboratory tests, per American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) specifications, and unannounced plant quality audits and inspections assure the quality and performance of sealed insulating glass products.
